YOGA & MEDITATION
The Exalted Warrior Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, facilitates an adaptive yoga instruction program, benefiting veterans with PTS, amputations, traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries. This program aligns perfectly with the WatchDawg initiative, which aims to improve mental health through various modalities, including yoga and meditation. By incorporating adaptive yoga into the WatchDawg program, we hope to further enhance the well-being of our participants.
Yoga and meditation come to us from a long standing relationship of Athena GTX to Exalted Warrior and Yogani founder Ms. Annie Okerlin. She offers a proven holistic approach to PTSD and TBI recovery, as well as other mental health issues, addressing both physical and psychological well-being of all participants.
By combining physical postures and breathing exercises with mindfulness techniques, these practices can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression. Yoga’s physical benefits, such as increased flexibility and strength can also improve self-esteem and body image. Meditation, on the other hand, can help individuals develop greater self-awareness, focus, and emotional regulation. When practiced regularly, yoga and meditation can empower individuals to manage their mental health conditions and lead more fulfilling lives.
